Count Kensington In Census 2020—because Kensington counts.
The census is more than just a tool for researchers. Data about income, number of children, household demographics, and other information from the census determines the level of need for Federal resources. The government uses this to decide how to distribute money each year for programs we all rely on—from SNAP and CHIP to programs for roads and schools. This means it is critical for every community to be counted as accurately as possible.
Unfortunately, the communities who need to be counted the most are also the communities who are most frequently under-represented on the census—including Kensington, where there is a large Spanish-speaking community. We are working with the City of Philadelphia to help spread the word about the importance of the census, and we offer resources to help community members complete the census online.
